What is Collaborative Divorce?

Collaborative Divorce is a process where each spouse is represented by their own certified, specially trained and experienced collaborative attorney focused on resolving issues of divorce using an interest-based approach. Collaborative Divorce provides each party with a process that allows for creativity and autonomy in making decisions regarding their marital estate and formulating specific parenting plans that serve the best interest of their children.

Collaborative Divorce includes the participation of a Financial Professional who assists the parties in gathering financial information about their marital estate, creating budgets for during and after divorce, and participates in providing professional advice in resolving financial matters for the couple. Collaborative Divorce also includes the participation of a Mental Health Professional who assists the parties in communicating during the divorce process and after, along with assisting parents in developing specific parenting plans for minor children.
